Daiwa Scarlet favored for Shuka Sho

The Oka Sho(Japanese 1000 Guineas) winner Daiwa Scarlet, a half sister to multiple g1 winner Daiwa Major, has been installed as the early favorite for Sunday's Shuka Sho. After closing Saturday betting round, she was at odds of 3.0. The Japanese Derby heroine Vodka was at 3.2 for second favorite, followed by Bella Rheia at 3.5. The rest of the field was at 10.0 or higher.

Foreign nominations for 2007 JC and JCD

A total of 45 foreign runners have been preliminarily nominated for the 2007 Japan Cup. In the meantime, the 2007 Japan Cup Dirt has 14 foreigners. Selection process for the invitees on the both races is just under way after closing the foreign nomination dated on October 9. The 2007 Japan Cup will run on Sunday, November 25 at Tokyo. The date for the Japan Cup Dirt will be on Saturday, November 24.
