Eishin Deputy leads all the way in Takarazuka


Eishin Deputy clinched the first g1 title when he won the Takarazuka Kinen on Sunday afternoon at Hanshin Racecourse. Hiroyuki Uchida was aboard the winner, covering the 2,200-meter trip in 2 minutes 15.30 seconds on yielding ground.

Eishin Deputy grabbed the lead from the start and was never behind to win the 2,200-meter g1 event. Meisho Samson and Inti Raimi challenged Eishin Deputy in the very final stage, but he hung on tough, beating Meisho Samson by a neck with Inti Raimi finishing another neck back in third.

Trained by T.Nomoto and owned by T.Hirai, Eishin Deputy has now won 10 in 27 starts The 135+ million yen first prize of the Takarazuka brought his career earnings to 441+ million yen.

Eishin Bokuyo in Urakawa, Hokkaido was the breeder of the 6-year-old chestnut horse, by French Deputy out of the Woodman mare Eishin McAllen.
