Buena Vista wins Juvenile Fillies in a canter

Buena Vista won the Hanshin Juvenile Fillies in a canter to wrap up the 2008 Best 2-year-old Filly Award title. Katsumi Ando steered the winning filly to run the 1,600-meter g1 distance in 1 minute 35.20 seconds.

When the field turned for home, Buena Vista was still far off the leader, third from the last. But she finished with an exlosive stride from there, marching on the outside and getting past rivals in the blink of an eye to spare a 2 1/2-length at the line. Danon Berbere, a 1 1/4-lengh before Mikrokosmos, took second.
