Alfredo remains undefeated


Alfredo remained undefeated when he landed the Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes at Nakayama on Sunday. He won the grade one 1,600-meter event in 1 minute 33.40 seconds on firm ground.

A 2-length behind the winner, Meiner Robusto took second with Leo Active finishing another 1 1/2-length back in third. Takei Halo finished another neck further back in fourth.

Alfredo, ridden by Craig Williams, chased the pace along the rail before taking command in the last 200 meters.

Alfredo gained a 1/2-length victory in his debut race at Nakayama in late-September and followed up with victory in the non-graded Kinmokusei Tokubetsu at Niigata in late-October. The T. Tezuka-trained bay colt has now won 3 in as many starts under the color of Carrot Farm. His career earnings boosted to more than 88 million jp yen.

Alfredo, bred by Northern Farm, is a 2-year-old colt by Symboli Kris S out of the Sunday Silence mare Princess Camellia.
