Curren Chan wins Takamatsunomiya
The Takamatsunomiya Kinen was won at Chukyo Racecourse by Curren Chan, who finished a neck before San Carlo with another half-length back Lord Kanaloa third. Under the hands of Kenichi Ikezoe, Curren Chan covered the 1,200-meter distance in 1 minute 10.30 seconds.
Curren Chan was into the front right after the field turned into the stretch and went on to getting up to the winning post. San Carlo made a good progress on the outside while Lord Kanaloa squeezed through inside, but their efforts were just too late.
Curren Chan, trained by T. Yasuda, has now won nine in 15 starts under the color of T. Suzuki. Her career earnings boosted to 406+ million jp yen. Shadai Farm was the breeder of Curren Chan, a 5-year-old mare by Kurofune out of the Tony Bin mare Spring Ticket.
