Strong Return wins Yasuda in record time
The grade one Yasuda Kinen was won this afternoon at Tokyo by Yuichi Fukunaga-steered Strong Return, who beat Grand Prix Boss by a neck. Another 2-length behind, Cosmo Sensor was third with another 1/2-length away Danon Yoyo fourth.
The firm going and high pace were in favor of Strong Return, who covered the 1,600-meter distance in the record time of 1 minute 31.30 seconds, 0.10 second faster than the previous record set by Danon Chantilly in the NHK Mile Cup on May 9, 2010.
Strong Return has now won 7 of his 19 races for trainer N. Hori and owner T. Yoshida. His career earnings boosted to 310+ million jp yen.
Shadai Farm in Chitose, Hokkaido was the breeder of Strong Return, a 6-year-old bay horse by Symboli Kris S out of the Smart Strike mare Caught Out.
