2012 Tenno Sho Autumn

A total of 18 horses have been entered for the grade one traditional race.

The main contenders:
Curren Black Hill - Undefeated 3-year-old colt in 5 starts; beat the older runners in the Mainichi Okan last outing; open to more improvement
Rulership - winner of the group one Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Sha Tin; could have a big run at his favorite distance of 2,000-meter
Fenomeno - A narrow second in the Japanese Derby; faces the older runners for the first time but don't underestimate him
Tosen Jordan - Reigning Champion; has consistently run at the highest level; could reproduce the last year's run
Dark Shadow - Won the Sapporo Kinen last outing; has a chance to get his first grade one glory

Deep Brillante retired
Deep Brillante, winner of the 2012 Japanese Derby, has been retired from racing due to tendon injury on right leg.
He won three in seven starts with 292+ million jp yen in career earnings.  His final race was the King George at Ascot where he finished 8th.
He will stud at Shadai Stallion Station.
