2012 Japan Cup Dirt
Roman Legend, coming off six wins in a row, seeks his first grade one stakes victory on Sunday at Hanshin in the Japan Cup Dirt. The 4-year-old Special Week colt has never finished behind in 5 starts, including victories in the g3 Elm Stakes and the g3 Miyako Stakes last two outings. He has won 8 of 9 dirt races. The Japan Cup Dirt distance is at his best, winning 7 in 8 starts over 1,800 meters on dirt.
Other horses to consider include multiple grade one winner Espoir City; Wonder Acute, winner of the JBC Classic; the g3 Musashino Stakes winner Ijigen; and Transcend, winner of this event in the last two runnings.
