Sadamu Patek notches Chukyo Kinen victory

Sadamu Patek broke his losing streak to notch the Chukyo Kinen victory at Chukyo Racecourse. It was his first triumph since Nov. 2012 when he took the grade one Mile Championship.

In a three-way battle, Katsuharu Tanaka-steered Sadamu Patek just got past Mikki Dream and Majesty Hearts in the nick of time for the winning post with a final time of 1 munite 37.10 seconds for the 1,600-meter trip on relatively soft ground. Mikki Dream finished a nose behind to take second with another neck further back Majesty Hearts third.

Sadamu Patek has now won six in 25 career starts for trainer M. Nishizono and owner Sadamu Onishi. The 6-year-old horse was produced from Fuji Kiseki and the Helissio mare Summer Night City.
