Duramente heads field of Nakayama Kinen


Dual classic winner Duramente tops the strong field of 11 entered for the grade two Nakayama Kinen at Nakayama Race Course Sunday.
Duramente, the likely favorite, makes the first appearance on the course since winning the Japanese Derby last May.
Among other entrants for the 1,800-meter race is near classic winner Real Steel, 2014 Satsuki Sho winner Isla Bonita, 2013 Satsuki Sho winner Logotype and grade winner Ambitious.

Brief Horseracing News

392.1(191/5) 14th pick Ginza Victoria won the race 11 at Ohi Thursday to become the longest-priced winner in Ohi racing history. 

Moanin(USA), recent winner of the February Stakes, will be heading for the Kashiwa Kinen to be run on May 5 at NAR Funabashi track. Copano Rickey and Best Warrior(USA) will also run in the grade one 1,600-meter dirt race.

Leontes and Air Spinel will meet again in the March 6 Yayoi Sho before the Satsuki Sho(Japanese 2000 Guineas). Makahiki, undefeated in two starts, will also run in the 2,000-meter race.

Timber Country(USA)(Woodman - Fall Aspen, by Pretense) died at Lex Stud Tuesday. The 24-year-old stallion produced multiple grade one winner Admire Don and the mares of Copano Rickey and Last Impact.
