Hartley to run in Kyodo News Service


Hartley is among the 13 nominations of Sunday's Kyodo News Service Hai at Tokyo. The Deep Impact colt, Hartley, highly regarded as one of the classic prospects, won the Make Debut race on Nov. 14 and followed up with a 1 1/4-length victory in the grade three Hopeful Stakes on Dec. 27.
The other nominations include Smart Odin, who produced a fastest finish to win the Tokyo Sports Hai Nisai Stakes at the same course, and Maitres d'Art, third in the grade three Keisei Hai last month.

The Kyodo News Service Hai has produced subsequent classic winners such as Duramente, Isla Bonita, Gold Ship and Deep Brillante.


Kyoto Race Course features the grade two Kyoto Kinen for 4yo+ with 15 nominations Sunday.
The nominations include Reve Mistral, Yamakatsu Ace and Touching Speech.


A total of 19 fillies have been nominated to the grade three Daily Hai Queen Cup at Tokyo on Saturday.
The nominations include Major Emblem, the 2-year-old filly champion, who makes her 2016 debut off an impressive 2-length victory in the grade one Hanshin Juvenile Fillies on Dec. 13.
