Moanin(USA) wins February S in record time


Second favorite Moanin(USA), ridden superbly by Mirco Demuro, set a new record timer for the Tokyo 1,600-meter dirt course as he won the grade one February Stakes in 1 minute 34 seconds flat Sunday. The 4-year-old colt quickened up into the front at around 200 meters to go, and he remained drawing clearly to the finish.
A 1 1/4-length behind, favorite Nonkono Yume finished second with another head back Asukano Roman third.
Moanin has now won six of his seven races with more than 194 million jpn yen in career earnings under the color of Y. Baba and the saddle of S. Ishizaka.
Empire Equines LLC in US was bred the chestnut colt, by Henny Hughes out of Giggy, by Distorted Humor.

Albert Dock takes Kokura Daishoten 
The grade three Kokura Daishoten was won in a thrilling finish by Yuga Kawada-piloted Albert Dock, who was a head better than D'accord. Aanother 1/2-length behind, Neorealism was third. The final time for the 1,800-meter turf trip was 1 minute 46.70 seconds.
Albert Dock is a 4-year-old bay colt by Deep Impact out of Golden Doc A, by Unusual Heat.
