2016 Japanese Oaks nominations

In the absence of Jeweler and Major Emblem, Sinhalite, who finished a narrow second in the Oka Sho(Japanese 1000 Guineas) last outing, tops among the 24 nominations of the 2016 Japanese Oaks(Himba Yushun).
The Oaks will be run at Tokyo Racecourse over 2,400 meters on Sunday, May 22.

Only two favorites in the last 10 Oaks runnings have visited to the winner's circle. The longest priced winner in the last decade was 2011 winner Erin Court, who paid 3,720 jpn yen for win as seventh favorite.
Oka Sho runners have a good record, recording seven firsts, six seconds and five thirds in the last 10 years. During the same period, last-time winners have a good record, finishing seven firsts, two seconds and two thirds.
