Major Emblem wire-to-wire victory in NHK Mile Cup

Having placed a disappointing fourth in the Oka Sho(Japanese 1000 Guineas) as heavy favorite, Major Emblem  came right back on the winning trail as she won the NHK Mile Cup at Tokyo Racecourse on Sunday afternoon. 
Race favorite Major Emblem led the field of 18 and went all the way to cross the finish line in 1 minute 32.80 seconds on firm ground. 
Winning rider Christophe Lemaire said, "She broke well to run her pace. She relaxed and had a perfect race."
A 3/4-length behind, Lord Quest came second in a fastest finish with another neck back Rainbow Line third.

Trained at Miho by Y. Tamura and owned by Sunday Racing Co. Ltd., Major Emblem has now won five of her seven races with more than 243 million jpn yen in career earnings. 
Northern Farm was the breeder of Major Emblem, a 3-year-old chestnut filly by Daiwa Major out of Catchy Title, by Opera House.
