Nominations of 2016 Tokyo Yushun(Japanese Derby)

The cream of the crop of 23 three-year-olds remain on the final nomination list of the 2016 Tokyo Yushun(known as the Japanese Derby) to be run on Sunday, May 29 at Tokyo Racecourse.

Tokyo Racecourse
The 2,400-meter Japanese Derby starts at just off the middle of the homestretch and goes around the oval turf course of 2,083 meters more than once to the line. It is the tough trip to climb up the stretch hill to be required speed and stamina.

Five of the last 10 favorites have visited the winner's circle. 2010 winner Eishin Flash(seventh pick at odds of 31.9(309-10) was the longest priced winner in the last decade.
Satsuki Sho runners have a good record, finishing seven firsts, five seconds and five thirds in the last 10 years. 
The horse who is able to produce a strong turn of foot in the final stretch could be the one to follow.
