Yasuda Kinen

The Yasuda Kinen(initially called the Yasuda Sho) was named after Mr. Izaemon Yasuda, who rendered the distinguished services on racing industry in early days. 

Brief History
The first run was in 1951 under the name of Yasuda Sho. The race name was changed to the Yasuda Kinen in 1958.
In introduction of grading system in 1984, the race was graded to a g1 and the door was open to foreign-bred horses. The Yasuda Kinen gained an international status and the door was open to foreign horses in 1993.
