Big Arthur tops field of 2016 Sprinters S


Big Arthur, winner of the Takamatsunomiya Kinen who surprisingly led all the way in the Centaur Stakes last outing, tops a field of 16 entered for the grade one Sprinters Stakes at Nakayama Racecourse.
The possible main contenders to Big Arthur will be: Mikkin Isle, second in the Takamatsunomiya Kinen; Silk Road Stakes winner Dance Director and Keeneland Cup winner Blanc Bonheur.

The post time for the 1,200-meter race will be at 3.40 p.m. on JST on Sunday, October 2.

Thrilling finish in Nippon TV Hai


A thrilling finish between Awardee(USA) and Moanin(USA) in the NAR grade two Nippon TV Hai produced on Wednesday night at Funabashi track. The two fought neck and neck throughout the stretch before Awardee(USA) put his head in front for the winning post. A 5-length behind, Sound True was third. The final time for the 1,800-meter dirt trip was 1 minute 52 seconds flat.
Yutaka Take rode Awardee(USA), who has now won 5 straight races.
Awardee(USA), a half brother of Lani, is a 6-year-old bay horse by Jungle Pocket out of Heavenly Romance, by Sunday Silence.

Gold Actor gets off to a good start in All Comers


Gold Actor got off to a good start toward fall campaign to win the grade two Sankei Sho All Comers at Nakayama Racecourse on Sunday. He won the 2,200-meter event under Hayato Yoshida in 2 minute 11.90 seconds by a neck from Satono Noblesse. Another length behind, Tsukuba Azuma was third place.
Gold Actor is a 5-year-old brown horse by Screen Hero out of Heilong Xing, by Kyowa Alsheba.

Satono Diamond neck victory in Kobe


Satono Diamond denied challenge by Mikki Rocket to win the grade two Kobe Shimbun Hai under Christophe Lemaire by a neck at Hanshin Racecoruse on Sunday. Second was Mikki Rocket, who finished a 3-year-old before third-placed Red Eldest. The final time for the 2,400-meter race was 2 minutes 25.70 seconds.

Dream Valentino late surge in Tokyo Hai


Dream Valentino displayed an explosive stretch run in the hands of Yasunari Iwata to win the NAR grade two Tokyo Hai on the Ohi sloppy track Thursday afternoon. A 2-lengh behind, Corin Berry came second with another head back Platina Growth third. The final time for the 1,200-meter race was 1 minute 11.90 seconds.

Tamano Brunette late charge in Ladies' Prelude


Tanamo Brunette produced a superb late run to win the NAR grade two Ladies' Prelude at Ohi Monday afternoon. A 1 1/2-length behind, Toko Venus and White Fugue dead-heated to share second place. Hironobu Tanabe steered the winning filly to travel the 1,800-meter dirt trip in 1 minute 54.70 seconds.

Dee Majesty takes St.Lite Kinen


Heavy favorite Dee Majesty, ridden by Masayoshi Ebina, began to make up grounds leaving the backstretch to win the grade two St.Lite Kinen at Nakayama Sunday.
Second was, a neck behind, Seewind with another 1 1/4-length back Prodigal Son third.
The final time for the 2,200-meter on turf was 2 minutes 13.10 seconds.

Sinhalite wins Rose Stakes in photo finish

Laser Bullet got past Sorte near the line to win the NAR grade three Tele Tama Hai Oval Sprint for two consecutive years. A 1/2-length behind, Sorte finished second with another 2-length back Legarsi third.

Lord Quest wins Keisei Hai AH as favorite


Race favorite Lord Quest beat the older rivals to win the grade three Keisei Hai Autumn Handicap at Nakayama Sunday.
In the hands of Kenichi Ikezoe, the 3-year-old colt won the 1,600-meter race in 1 minute 33 seconds flat.
Second was, a 1/2-length behind, Cafe Brilliant with another 1 1/4-length back Danon Platina third.

Race favorite Biche, having moved up into a good position on the final turn, showed a great turf of foot to win the grade three Shion Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Nakayama on Saturday. Second was, a 2 1/2-length behind, Vivlos followed by Frontier Queen.
Keita Tosaki rode the winner with the final time of 1 minute 59.70 seconds over 2,000 meters on turf.

Reine Minoru romps Kokura Nisai


Reine Minoru took a lead on the final turn on her way to winning the grade three Kokura Nisai Stakes at Kokura Racecourse.
 She won it by a 6-length from Daiichi Terminal, who finished a 1/2-length ahead of Kashino Mast in second.
Surugu Hamanaka was aboard the winner to complete the 1,200-meter turf trip in 1 minute 8 seconds flat.
Reine Minoru is a 2-year-old chestnut filly by Daiwa Major out of Daiwa Angel, by Taiki Shuttle.

A Day in the Life takes Niigata Kinen
A Day in the Life came from far behind to win the grade three Niigata Kinen under Norihiro Yokoyma. The 5-year-old bay horse got up to the winning post in 1 minute 57.50 seconds for the Niigata 2,000-meter course. A 3/4-length behind, Albert Docki was second with Longing Dancer another 1/2-length further back third.

Trust, trained at NAR Kawasaki, was never behind during the 1,800-meter trip to win the grade three Sapporo Nisai Stakes for 2yo at Sapporo. A 2 1/2-length behind, Black Onyx was second with another neck back Amire Winner third.
Daichi Shibata steered the winner with the final time of 1 minute 49.90 seconds on firm ground.

Sapporo's main event on Saturday will be the grade three Sapporo Nisai Stakes for 2-year-olds.
13 juveniles will run in the 1,800-meter race.
The leading contenders could be:
Invicta; an impressive winner on his debut race at Sapporo last month; Tagano Asura, a 4-length victory when leading all the way in the maiden race at Hakodate; Collier d'Or, a coming-from-behind winner on his debut at Sapporo; Deep Warrior, a 2-length victory in the Sapporo maiden race.
