Mikki Isle, survives inquiry, wins Mile Championship

Mikki Isle led the field of 18 from start to finish, winning the Mile Championship at Kyoto Sunday. A head behind, Isla Bonita was second with Neorealism third, Danon Shark fourth and Satono Aladdin fifth. Suguru Hamanaka rode the winner to complete the 1,600-meter trip in 1 minute 33.10 seconds.
Mikki Isle's first finish was followed by an inquiry of stewards on interference(Mikki Isle bearing-out) during the last 100 meters, but the result stood as it was.

Mikki Isle's career earnings now total over 529 million jpn yen with record of 19-8-4-1-6 under the color of M.Noda.
Trained by H.Otonashi and bred by Northern Racing, Mikki Isle is a 5-year-old bay horse by Deep Impact out of Star Isle, by Rock of Gibraltar.
