Favorite triumphs Hopeful S

Race favorite Rey de Oro quickened up into front in the deep stretch to win the Hopeful Stakes at Nakayama. A 1 1/4-length behind, Meiner Sphene came second with Globe Theatre third, another 1 1/4-length behind.
Christophe Lemaire rode the winner to cover the 2,000-meter distance in 2 minutes 1.30 seconds.
Rey de Oro, who has now recorded three wins as many starts, is a 2-year-old bay colt by King Kamehameha out of La Dorada, by Symboli Kris S.
