17 runners for Spring Tenno Sho


A total of 17 horses have been entered for the Spring Tenno Sho to be run on Sunday, April 30 at Kyoto Racecourse.
Kitasan Black, who has won this event and the Japan Cup last year, comes from the g1 Osaka Hai victory and will be looking for his second Tenno Sho title. His front-running style could appeal a strong claim.
Satono Diamond, winner of last year's Kikuka Sho(Japanese St. Leger) and Arima Kinen, got off to a great start of the season as he won the g2 Hanshin Daishoten last month.
The pair met once in last year's Arima Kinen when Satono Diamond gained a brilliant victory to finish a neck in front of Kitasan Black.
The possible upsetters in the traditional classic race include: 
g2 Nikkei Sho winner Sciacchetra, Cheval Grand, Dee Majesty, Gold Actor and Rainbow Line.
