Isla Bonita breaks losing streak in Milers C

Isla Bonita ended more than two-year drought as he won the grade two Yomiuri Milers Cup at Kyoto Racecourse on Sunday. This was the first victory for him since September 12, 2014 at the g2 St. Lite Kinen. Under the hands of Christophe Lemaire, he completed the 1,600-meter trip in 1 minut 32.20 seconds. Race favorite Air Spinel came second, a 1/2-length behind, with another 3/4-length away Young Man Power third.
Isla Bonita, who has now won seven of his 21 races, is a 6-year-old dark bay horse by Fuji Kiseki out of Isla Cozzene, by Cozzene.
