Soul Stirring redeems reputation with Oaks victory

Soul Stirring, ridden by Christophe Lemaire and trained by K.Fujisawa, redeemed her reputation when she won the Japanese Oaks(Yushun Himba) as favorite at Tokyo Racecourse Sunday afternoon.
It was a great and exciting finish between Soul Stirring and Mozu Katchan. With about 400 meters to go, the pair broke out from the crowd, but Soul Stirring was going the better of the rival. Lemaire brought Soul Stirring out to flash past the post in 2 minutes 24.10 seconds for a 2,400-meter trip.
A 1 3/4-length behind, Mozu Katchan was second with Admire Miyabi third, a 2 1/2-length behind. Another head behind was Deirdre with Lys Gracieux fifth.
Soul Stirring has now won five of her six races with more than 277 million jpn yen in career earnings unde the color of Shadai Race Horse Co.Ltd. Bred by Shadai Farm, she is a 3-year-old brown filly by Frankel out of Stacelita, by Monsun.
