Almond Eye explosive late run in Shinzan

Having run far off the pace early on, Almond Eye came with a sensational finishing stride to win the Shinzan Kinen at Kyoto on Monday. A 1 1/4-length behind, Tsuzumion came second with another neck back Cassius third. Keita Tosaki rode the third grade winner for three consecutive days to complete the 1,600-meter in 1 minute 37.10 seconds on heavy ground.
Almond Eye, who has now gained second win in three starts, is a 3-year-old bay filly by Lord Kanakloa out of Fusaichi Pandora, by Sunday Silence.
