Jour Polaire wins Victoria Mile in photo finish


The Victoria Mile was won in a thrilling finish on Sunday, May 13 at Tokyo by Jour Polaire, who went into front in the very final stage to win the 1,600 meters under Hideaki Miyuki in 1:32.3 on good ground. Race favorite Lys Gracieux challenged, but was a nose short of winning. Another neck behid, Red Avancer was third with Aerolithe fourth and Miss Panthere fifth.
Jour Polaire, trained by M. Nishizono and owned by G1 Racing Co. Ltd., has now won six of her 14 races with more than 224 million jpn yen in career earnings.
Shadai Corporation Inc. was the breeder of Jour Polaire, a 5-year-old bay mare by Deep Impact out of Summer Night City, by Helissio.
