Keiai Nautique rallies in NHK Mile C

Keian Nautique, held by Yusuke Fujioka at second to last early on, made up ground in the stretch to win the grade one NHK Mile Cup at Tokyo Racecourse on Sunday. He won the 1,600-meter race in 1:32.8, finishing a neck ahead of Gibeon with another head away Red Veyron third. Fourth was, another 3/4-length back, Mr Melody(USA) followed by Ryono Tesoro(USA), a neck behind.
Keiai Nautique, trained by O. Hirata and owned by K. Kameda, has now won three of his seven races with more than 169 million jpn yen in career earnings. Bred by Queens Ranch Ltd., the bay 3-year-old colt is by Deep Impact out of Keiai Gerbera, by Smarty Jones.
