O'Donoghue gains his first JRA grade victory


Colm O'Donoghue, who has received a short-term license to ride JRA races, gained his first JRA grade victory as he guided Perform a Promise to a 3/4-length victory in the Copa Republica Argentina at Tokyo on Sunday. Muito Obrigado was second followed by Makoto Galahad third. The 2,500-meter race was run in 2:33.7 on firm ground.
Perform a Promise, who has now won seven of his 15 races and recorded his second grade victory of the season, is a 6-year-old chestnut horse by Stay Gold out of I'll Be Bound, by Tanino Gimlet.
