2018 Horse of the Year goes to Almond Eye


Almond Eye, who had won five as many starts last season, was named for Horse of the Year, JRA announced on July 8. The victories she gained include  the Japan Cup, the Oka Sho(Japanese 1000 Guineas), the Japanese Oaks and the Shuka Sho. She was also awarded for Best 3-year-old Filly. Almond Eye, trained by S. Kunieda and owned by Silk Racing Co. Ltd., is a daughter of Lord Kanaloa and Sunday Silence mare Fusaichi Pandora.
